Amangiri @ Canyon Point, Utah
Private... Remote... Romantic...
Amangiri Main Pool
This remote resort is made for couples. Privacy is gold in these rocks — which has something to do with the steep (but very-much-worth-it) price-tag for a unique stay at Amangiri. There are 34 hyper-modern cement suites set within a desolate 600-acre swath of the Utah desert. The rooms are complete with twin rain showers, soaking tubs, and glass doors that open onto outdoor lounges with private fireplaces and sweeping views. The central pool is its own architectural marvel, built right into the base of a mesa. You can find plenty of things to do from amazing views in your own hot-air balloon ride to staying on the groud and opt for a Navajo-inspired spa treatment. Follow that with a taste of the hotel restaurant’s wood-fired cuisine. Spend your days lounging, cuddling or hiking in the private expanse that includes its only rope bridge. This is one amazing experience.
Amangiri Complex
Beautiful during day and night.
The daily rate includes almost everything for two: breakfast, lunch and dinner service with all non-alcoholic drinks on the house; pickup service from nearby Page Municipal Airport (PGA) upon request; guided group hikes in the surrounding landscape; fitness classes; and use of the gym, main pool, steam room, sauna and plunge and step pools at no extra cost.
Amangiri Spa Area
The block architecture blends into the background.
Amangiri’s has a private access road which is blocked to keep anyone except for guests out of the grounds. Guests will certainly find part of the appeal of Amangiri is the uninterrupted escape. The property is very unusual, constructed from concrete with a very angular design. Quite a wonderful contrast to the shapes of the natural rock of the surrounding landscape. Amangiri seems to blend in nicely making it seem invisible. There is also a 5-bedroom ranch for rent as well as Camp Sarika, a tented and intimate, back-to-the-wild experience.
Amangiri Suite
Girijaala Suite
Mesa Suite
The resort has various room choices. All of the rooms are stunning and unusual. The style of the architecture lies somewhere between prison and paradise. The rooms rely on the warmth of the outside for their aesthetic beauty. Most rooms have a private fire pit and double rear doors and built-in benches. Some rooms have outside private pools. The Amangiri Suite has everything. Girijaala Suite (3000+ sq. feet) has mountain views while the Mesa Pool Suite (1500+ sq. feet) has views of the flatter mesa. The Terrace, Mesa and Desert View Suites are all excellent but without the private pool option; all hover around the 1000 sq. foot mark in size.
The Fireside Pavilion
The Chinle Site
For meals you have the choices of The Dining Room (inside) with wonderful views and The Fireside Pavilion, an open-air pavilion for meals beneath the starry desert sky. A short drive or horse back ride away is The Chinle Site; dinners at the site are often enriched by performances from Navajo musicians and storytellers. There is also The Desert Lounge, ideal for cocktail soirées, special-occasion dinners, and moments of quiet contemplation. There are also Dining Experiences available ranging from meals on the trail to dinner on the rocks.
Hoodoo Suspension Bridge accessible only to Amangiri.
Aman Spa uses Hózhó healing techniques.
There are numerous trails that lead from Amangiri to dramatic viewpoints and hidden wilderness hotspots. Graded by difficulty, guided hikes offer guests the opportunity to discover the geological wonders of this astonishing landscape. You can also horseback ride, go for a hot-air or helicopter adventure, or explore the region in many other ways. If relaxing is more on your agenda, then try to spa or wellness programs. Inside and outside treatment rooms, yoga on the rocks, water therapy and more await to pamper you.
