Reasons Why You Should Use a Contact Form Instead of an Email

If you own or run a business, customers must be able to contact you easily. They may want to make inquiries, sign up for notifications, or buy from you without much hustle. There are two ways clients can communicate with you through your website — contact forms and emails.

A contact form is a page on your website that allows you to control which information is collected and its distribution throughout the business. It is a quick and convenient way for the users of your websites to ask questions. An email address in your website allows users to send you any messages.


Posting an email address exposes it to hackers and spammers. If someone hacks your email address, they can use it to send spam messages and malware to clients, affecting your website ranking. Even authorized users can send all types of attachments, including overly large files that may take up your inbox space. A contact form helps you prevent spamming and hacking by allowing you to add protective features such as ReCAPTCHA.


The only way to gain subscribers through emails is by asking users to reply to them and adding the subscribers manually to your list. However, you will still not get information on aspects like the user’s country or city, which can help with email list segmentation. In contrast, a content form allows you to add a subject line, which can go a long way in helping you keep track of responses. You also get a notification every time someone fills your contact form, making it even easier to keep track of all incoming messages.


Unlike the case with emails, users do not have to open another browser window to write their message on a contact form. They probably will stay on the website even after sending the message, allowing more chances of engagement.


You may want information collected from your contact us page sent to several people or all members of your team. It isn’t easy with emails since the only way is by forwarding them to your team members every single time.

With a contact form, you can add multiple notifications to multiple receivers, saving you the time and effort it may take to share the information yourself.
